Email filtering is a feature that allows you to delete certain emails from the server before they appear in your inbox. These filters are usable for words, symbols or lines of text. For example, you can configure it so that all emails containing the phrase "buy now" do not appear in your inbox. E-mail filtering is an effective tool that greatly reduces the amount of spam messages. In this guide, we will show you how to protect yourself and other users.
- Log in to your cpanel and click on "Email Filters"
- Next to the email account you want to filter, click "Manage Filters"
- Click the "Create a New Filter" button
- In the "Filter Name" field, enter the desired filter name, e.g. Bad Language (this name must be an unused name for a specific filter, if a filter with the same name already exists, the old filter will be automatically deleted)
- The "Rules" option contains elements such as "from", "to", "body", and other e-mail elements. If you want to e.g. to filter rude words, you should select "Body" and "Contains" and set which word you want to filter, which means that any e-mail that contains that word in the body of the mail will be filtered
- The "Actions" option determines what will happen to the email that has been filtered. If you choose e.g. "Discard Message" e-mail message will be deleted, but you can also redirect it to any other e-mail account
- When you have selected all options, click the "Create" button
- If you want to add more rules and components to the filter or reduce them, you can do it via the "+" and "-" buttons on the right
