After expiring, domain immediately becomes inactive, its status changes from ACTIVE to EXPIRED automatically.
After the expiration, we do not guarantee the registrant’s ability to reclaim their domain.
The domain automatically transforms into a state called Grace Period which lasts for 29 days after the expiration, and the possible renewal during this period would be available at the same price.
If the domain is not renewed during Grace Period, it automatically changes to Redemption Period.
There are two types of Redemption period :
- RGP – Redemption Grace Period – the period which occurs after Grace Period and lasts for a maximum of 42 days. During this period, it is ONLY the REGISTRANT that can request the renewal from the registry at the renewal price with the compensation of 250€ (the complete amount that should be paid is renewal of the domain + 250€). If the renewal is approved by the registry, the new expiration date will be set exactly a year after the first expiration date.
- ERGP – Extended Redemption Grace Period – the period which occurs after Grace Period and lasts for a maximum of 90 days. During this period, it is ONLY the REGISTRANT that can request the renewal from the registry at the renewal price with the compensation of 250€ (the complete amount that should be paid is renewal of the domain’ + 250€). If the renewal is approved by the registry, the new expiration date will be set exactly a year after the first expiration date.
Whether the domain will be transformed into RGP (Redemption Grace Period) or ERGP (Extended Redemption Grace Period) cannot be known ahead of time, it is decided by the registry.
If the domain is not extended during Grace Period or during any of the Redemption Periods which is assigned by the registry, it will be deleted in the process which lasts for 5 days, after which the domain will be removed from the National Internet Domain Registry, which means that the registrant is losing the ownership of the name of the domain and it can be registered by anyone else.
ADVICE – In order for the registrants to avoid this (in)convenience, it is recommended that the registrants keep records of the expiration date of the gTLD domain, and neatly extend the domain from the user panel 15 days in advance.
IMPORTANT!: The rule of the registry according to which our company works is that there is NO REFUND for the compensation of 250€ for the renewal of the domain during any of the ‘Redemption Periods’, whether SUCCESSFUL or FAILED.
